The Benefits of Coconut Oil in Summer Haircare

Hello lovelies!

Have I mentioned how important it is to take extra care of your hair during the hot summer months, and during sun exposure?

I'm sure I have, many times, but I can't stress enough the importance of it!

If you want to have beautiful, healthy hair, you'll need to pay an extra attention to it!

My secret is: Coconut oil!

After my summer vacations, I went to my hairdresser to get my colour done and to see if I need a trim...I was prepared for it...but imagine my surprise when my hairdresser told me I actually don't need one, because my ends are doing just fine, they aren't split, or dry!!!

I use natural oils such as coconut, or line seed oil, all year round, in my haircare routine.

I use 100% natural coconut oil as a pre-shampooing hair mask/nourishing treatment, once a week.

Natural coconut oil will become solid when the temperatures are lower; that's one way to tell that the product is completely natural, without any chemicals added.

I will talk about this more in one of my upcoming posts/ beauty videos...

For the beach, I had another product that I was using on a daily basis, that was protecting my hair from the sun, from the wind and salt...It was the spray formula that contained coconut oil, but it had other ingredients as well, basically it was a non-oily oil that was more appropriate to use on a daily basis (because of its non oily formula).

This brand isn't famous and I suppose it isn't easily available worldwide either.
I got it at my local supermarket in Italy, and the price was somewhere between 5-10€
But, in this post I'm not reviewing the brand, but the benefits of coconut oil!
You can find similar products in your local drugstores/ supermarkets.

This product has the most amazing coconut scent and is doing a great job at protecting my hair in summertime, when I'm spending time at the beach!

You can apply it more times a day, especially before going for a swim!(and after!)

This product will really prevent dry/ split ends and will allow your hair to grow beautiful & long :)

KERASTASE SOLEIL MICRO-VOILE PROTECTEUR, SPF for your hair!

Hi beauties!

Summer is coming to an end (sigh!), but I still have a couple of summer beauty products/ essentials, to share with you!

I haven't had a chance to write about them sooner (my apologies!), but, let's not forget that there are parts of this world where the summer is only just beginning (lucky you!)...also, these recommendations might come in handy the next year, when you're going to look for that perfect product to include in your summer beauty routine! :)

I couldn't imagine my summer haircare routine without Kerastase Soleil Micro- Voile spray! It's the best spf for your hair! And, yes, your hair needs spf as well!

I've repurchased this product several times already, because, when the summer time approaches, this is the product I need to have in my beauty bag!

You can use it all year round, if you often swim in a swimming pools, because it'll also protect your hair from the chlorine!

You know how blonde hair can turn green after a nice, long day at the pool? Well, with this product in your hair this disaster won't happen!

I really like all the products from Kerastase soleil line, but this one is definitely my favourite!

The sun and the sea can really damage your hair, especially if it's colour treated...it can become very dry and brittle.

That's why you need a product that will protect your hair from the external agents and that will care for it by moisturizing it.

I love this product because it's actually a very fine, light, almost dry mist (definitely non-oily), that quickly absorbs into your hair and it won't weigh it down, or leave it feeling greasy, as some suncare products tend to do.

A little bit of the product goes a long way, even if your hair is long as mine, so this product will last you a whole summer long, maybe even two! :)

Macadamia Natural Oil Haircare Products Haul & Review

Hey guys!

While I was in Croatia this past June, I spotted an advert in one fashion & beauty mag, saying how Macadamia Natural Oil haircare products are now available in selected croatian pharmacies!

I was really excited because I've heard so much about this brand, and I wanted to try out some of their products so badly!

But they aren't easy to get here in Europe, where I live in Italy, nobody sells this brand, and I thought, chances to find it in Croatia were even fewer!

However, surprise, surprise, I found out they're actually available in Croatia!

Now, the question was: where?

Immediately, I began a search for them, and went from one pharmacy to another, in the centre of my town, asking if they have Macadamia natural oil haircare range in their offer, or if they know WHERE??? can I find it!

My search had a positive result, as by the end of the day, I found a pharmacy that sells this brand!

There I got three products that I wanted to try out the most, and then, the very next day, I discovered another place that sells Macadamia Natural Oil, so I got two more products from there! 

I already tried out most of the products that I've purchased, so instead of just filming a haul, I did a quick review video as well :)

I really like all of these products!

They are a bit more on the expensive side, but being a professional haircare products, I believe they're worth the price.

They're very concentrated, so a little of the product goes a long way, which means they'll last you a long time!

Healing Oil Spray 

(in croatian currency, kuna: 87,75)

light therapeutic oil that heals, shines and protects.
2 fl.oz. 60ml

Macadamia Healing Oil Spray is an ultra fine mist that instantly absorbs into hair, weightlessly infusing moisture, health, softness, protection, control and shine.

HOW TO USE: For styling and finishing, mist into towel- dried hair. For ultimate shine & protection, mist on after style is complete.

Nourishing Leave- in Cream

(in croatian currency, kuna: 39,00)

Leave- in conditioning texture cream
2 fl.oz. 60ml

HOW TO USE: Work a small amount through towel- dried, clean hair.

Do not rinse. Style as usual. Perfect for every day use.

Helps in detangling your hair, ideal for curly/frizzy/unruly hair.

Makes your hair soft and manageable!

It also reduces the time that you have to put into blow drying your hair! My hair got dry faster, when using this product!

Deep Repair Masque

(in croatian currency, kuna: 100ml costs 88,00 kn, 250ml costs 210,00 kn)

Revitalizing hair reconstructor for dry, damaged hair.
I bought this mask both in a regular size container (8.5 fl.oz. 250ml), as in a smaller,
travel- convenient packaging (3.3 fl.oz. 100ml)

HOW TO USE: Liberally comb through clean, wet hair and allow up to 7 minutes of penetration before rinsing. No heat necessary. This deep repair masque is an intense treatment, I use it once a week, but it is recommended not to use it more than twice a week.

Personally, I'm in love with this mask!

It is such a luxurious, rich, nourishing treatment for my hair!

Afterwards, my hair is silky soft,it looks and feels so healthy!

I would definitely recommend this treatment to everybody trying to let their hair grow long, or just mantain their hair healthy and beautiful looking!

The smaller container is going to accompany me on my summer vacations!

Rejuvenating Shampoo

(in croatian currency, kuna: 110,78)

moisturizing shampoo for dry or damaged hair
10 fl.oz. 300ml
Color- safe
Sulfate- free
Paraben- free

Ideal for dry, damaged hair, this shampoo gently cleanses while replenishing moisture and protecting your hair.

HOW TO USE: Apply to wet hair and massage the scalp and roots with fingertips to work into a lather. Rinse thoroughly.

Macadamia Natural Oil haircare products combine two of the world's rarest, most valuable oils to provide the ultimate results in hair rejuvenation and maintenance.

Summer Haircare: Kérastase Soleil & Kemon Kroma- Light

Today I'd like to blog about my favourite summer haircare products!

I've mentioned the Kérastase line as my favourite haircare line many times... 
For summer hair care I  turn to them, always! ;)

Here are my favourites I always recommend to mantain your hair healthy & long even after your summer vacations:

Shampoo

Use it after a day at the beach or swimming in the sea, to
restore your hair with moisture & shine!

Care Index 3

 When UV rays come into contact with the oxygen in the air, free radicals may be formed. These cause the lipids and keratin found in the hair fibre to deteriorate, leaving it dry, dull and prone to colour- fading. The deterioration of the hair fibre is exacerbated by water and humidity.
The more fragile the hair, the greater the damage caused by harmful UV rays. This is the case with colour- treated hair: over time, as it is exposed to the sun, the hair fibre not only becomes dry, dull and prone to colour- fading, but also damaged.
The Recherche Avancée L'Oréal has created a UV filter that has a particular affinity for the hair fibre to help protect colour- treated hair against the drying of its structure by the sun's UV rays.


TECHNOLOGY- HOW DOES IT WORK?


1.FILTRE PHOTO- DEFENSE
A technological breakthrough, the Photo- defense filter fixes itself to the hair through electrostatic force. Charged with positive ions, it attaches itself to the hair, particularly to damaged areas of the hair which are highly charged with negative ions. Hair is protected against attacks by harmful UV rays, which cause the hair fibre to deteriorate.


2.WATER- RESIST INGREDIENT
Provides hydrophobic properties, repelling water and humidity.


3. CERAMIDE + SUBSTANTIVE POLYMER
Help restore the hair and provide softness. Thanks to the intensifying action of the product, the hair fiber is gradually strengthened with each application.


RESULTS:
- Hair feels replenished
- Helps boost colour's radiance and shine
- Softness
- Helps protect hair against external aggressors (UV rays, chlorinated or salt water).

Micro- Voile Protecteur
A fine, light & dry mist suitable for
all hair types, especially developed for  a colour treated hair
exposed to the sun.
This product is like a SPF, but for your hair!

COMPLETE SOLEIL PROGRAMME (How to use this line for the best results):


PROTECT
Before and during exposure to the sun, help protect your hair by using Défense Ultime care index 3.


CLEANSE
After exposure to the sun, cleanse hair with Bain Après- Soleil for colour- treated hair care index 1,2,3.
Massage through from roots to ends using circular movements. Rinse and towel dry.


RESTORE
Apply 1 to 2 walnut- sized amounts of Masque UV Défense Active concentrate. Gently massage the lengths and ends. Focus on sensitised areas. Leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.


While I was in Croatia, I also paid a visit to my hairdresser :)
There is where I bought this colour- enhancing conditioner by Kemon.
My hairdresser works exclusively with Kemon brand, so I wanted to try out this conditioner to see for myself if it's worth all the hype!
It is a good product and it does miracles in detangling your hair!
You only need to apply a small amount of the product, even if you have a very long hair, like I do!
This product is going to last me cca one month and a half, which is pretty good, given the fact that I'm using it twice a week, if not even more often than that!
However, I was expecting this to (words of my hairdresser) "delicately colour my hair/enhance my hair colour" which this product has failed to do.
So I won't be repurchasing it, also because I think it's overpriced for the results it gives.
This product costs somewhere between 20- 30 € (I lost the receipt), and I think that's just too much!
Overpriced!

A LITTLE CHIT- CHAT: How are you spending this lovely Sunday?
I was working yesterday until late & today I have to start getting ready for my trip to Croatia as I'm officially on my vacations again! Yeay!!
