Lancaster Tan Deepener DUPE! Kiko Tan Intensifier Review

This is going to be another post where I review my summer favourites! Among all the products I loved, this summer, I had one big beauty product discovery, that I'd like to share with you! :)

I was on a lookout for something that will help me out in getting a nice tan (my skin is very pale and it doesn't tan quickly!).

I knew I was going to spend only 10 days at the beach, so I wanted a product that could speed up my tanning process, whilst keeping my skin protected against the harmful UV rays!

I've heard great things about Lancaster Tan Deepener, but when I went to my local beauty store to check it out, I was totally put off by its price! It retailed at more than 30€, a price that I wasn't willing to pay for a product that doesn't even offer a high spf (spf 6 only!).

That's why I was very pleased to discover that this summer, Kiko Make Up Milano, has come up with a product that is very similar to Lancaster Tan Deepener!

In August, when I was shopping for beauty products for my summer vacations, I went to Kiko store, and they were having 50% OFF their summer collection, and so were discounted all the products from their sun care line! 

I ended up paying less than 10€ for this product and I was very happy :)

It turned out to be VERY similar to Lancaster Tan Deepener, even the spf (6) is the same in both products!

Because it had such a low spf, I only started using it half way through my summer vacations (I wasn't going to risk using it the very first days, when I was still super pale!). Even then, I was applying it only in the late afternoon hours, and for earlier hours I had a higher spf on my body.

This product has got a very thick, gel-like texture, and it's actually very sticky!

You can use it on the beaches that are like on the above pic, but for a sandy beaches, this is a big NO-NO (unless you want to be completely covered in sand that will stick all over your body! ughhh!)

After my summer vacations, I actually left this product at my home in Croatia, because here in Italy where I live, we only have sandy beaches, so I knew I wasn't going to be able to use this product here!

In Croatia, in my area, we have pebbly beaches and rocky shore, so using this product won't be such a problem!

About its tanning power:

If you can pass the fact that this product is so sticky, then you'll love the results it'll give you!

It'll really give you a deeper tan, faster.

Another positive thing is that you won't burn, even though the spf is so low (however, this doesn't apply if you're sunbathing in the midday sun- in this case, I recommend you the shadow, and very high spf!)

In a few words, yes, it does what it says, it will intensify your tan, but this can't be the only spf product you're going to bring with you on your summer vacations!

It has got a very pleasant scent.

One more thing:

This product isn't a self tanner, but it can stain your clothes! So make sure to put all your light coloured clothes far away from it!

Bioderma Photoderm spf 50 + Compact Mineral Very High Protection

As the summer is officialy coming to an end, I'm doing a round up/ overview of all the beauty products that were my favourites during the past couple of months...

Take a note because you might want to try some of these products next year! :)

In this post I'd like to recommend a product that I can easily describe as "my summer best friend", it's Bioderma Photoderm Max spf 50+ Mineral Compact, very high protection for sensitive skin.

The container holds 10g of the product.
Made in France.

I've already repurchased this product several times, as I need to have it in my beauty bag when the summer approaches, especially for going to the beach/ sunbathing.

Spf 50+ gives you a very high sun protection.

This product is suitable even for the most sensitive skin (I tend to develop allergy to the sun in summertime!)

If your skin is allergic to chemical filters and fragrance, this product is the way to go for you!

It's also suitable for intolerant skin, fragile skin, skin sensitive to UV rays (after a dermatological procedure).

PROPERTIES

The association of anti-UVA/anti-UVB sunscreens of mineral origin offers optimum protection against the harmful effects of UV rays (sunburn, sun allergies, etc.)

It's texture is soft and easy to apply. It evens the complexion and leaves a pleasant powdery finish for an immediate "healthy- glow" effect.

It's preservative free, non comedogenic and hypoallergenic.

I'm using this product in a shade "light colour"

I apply this product evenly and generously before sun exposure.
I always make sure to reapply it before and after swimming, or any kind of sport activities I do on the beach.

I always carry this product with me in my beach bag!

I bought this product at my local pharmacy in Italy, but the first time I bought this product was actually in a pharmacy in Croatia.

Skincare & Make Up for the Beach (Summer Beauty Secrets!)

You asked me to talk about my summer skincare & make up routine in summertime, particularly for the beach...

I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to write about it sooner, but I did manage to film a video about it, while I was on my summer vacations!

I filmed directly from the beach and showed you all the products I use in my skincare (how I prepare my skin for the sun exposure), and I answered your question about wearing make up on the beach!

These are all the products I need to have on me in the hot summertime:

As you can see, there are just a very few products that I use when I'm on the beach, but these are truly my essentials and are all that I need!

My thoughts about wearing make up to the beach:

I think there's no point in doing that, really!

The most important thing is to protect your skin from the damaging UV rays with good skincare products.

Protect your natural beauty & let it shine :) In summertime, at the beach, you're going to be hot, you're going to sweat, go for a swim, be active (hopefully!)...your make up won't last...it'll be cakey on your face, it'll melt off, and you're going to look ridiculous!

If you feel that you need to wear at least something, go for a lipgloss with spf, and you can also use one of those mineral compact foundation with very high spf (I use Bioderma), that are designed specifically to be used at the beach/for sunbathing, and have a very light, mineral based formula that won't clog your pores and will just blend in with your skintone.

At risk of sounding cheesy... but, with no make up,  letting your natural beauty shine, you're going to be the most beautiful girl at the beach :)
Make up can be our best friend sometimes, but the beach is just not the place for it!

I often say that a nice summer hat & a good pair of sunglasses, are my make up for the beach!

For summer skincare/ make up, these are the products I recommend:

- Bioderma Photoderm spf 30 Matifying Sun Fluid (if you have oily/combination skin); look for the one specific to your skin type!

- Vichy capital soleil spf50+ uvb+uva

- Bioderma photoderm max spf 50+ mineral compact very high protection sensitive skin

- Shiseido anti-aging foundation sun protection compact foundation spf 30 water-resistant (my shade is sp60)

- Sun Dance lippen balsam spf30 uva+uvb protection (exclusive to DM drugstores)

- Bronzingold lip gloss with spf (exclusive to deliplus)

- Nice summer hat

- A good pair of shades ;)

We're just a couple of days before the official ending of summer, but I hope this quick post will still be useful to you, for whenever you're sunbathing, or spending time at the beach!
