Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Review

Hello beauties!

Garnier came up with a B.B. cream and I was very eager to try it out!
I've heard a lot of good things about B.B. creams and about their healing properties on a sensitive/ blemish prone skin!

So what is exactly a B.B. cream?

BB cream, also known as Blemish Balm, Blemish Base or Beblesh Balm, is a cosmetic item sold mainly in East and Southeast Asia.
Originally formulated in Germany it was initially used by dermatologists to help laser surgery patients protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive skin while providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne and other blemishes.
BB creams come in a variety of different formulations and qualities. Some are said to have skin whitening or brightening properties. Others are anti-acne, some are anti-wrinkle, some are intended to even out skin tone, and yet others to lighten blemish scars. BB creams are sometimes used like a primer under foundation, and if tinted may even replace foundation and some newer ones will have functions of primer, foundation, moisturizer, sun block, pore minimization and skin refining together which can save time and money in make-up.
In recent years BB cream has gained a huge following for its skin-regenerating functions and is now also widely used in Asia to provide natural-looking skin coverage. It has been named "the secret of Korean actresses", which gained it large exposure in Asian markets.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector
Daily All-in-one B.B. Cream

Immediately perfected skin:
  • Evens tone & boosts glow
  • Blurs imperfections
  • Smoothes fine lines
  • 24 hr hydration
  • SPF 15 UV protection

For perfected skin in just one step, Garnier has combined a Vitamin C derivative known for its antioxidant and illuminating properties, with mineral pigments to unify the complexion, for a sheer and natural look.

Garnier B.B. cream provides a good coverage and a good level of hydration.
When I use this product, I don't need to apply my daily moisturiser and my foundation, as this B.B. cream is both these things in one!

Garnier B.B. cream comes in two different shades:
light and medium.
At my local drugstore (Drogerie Markt), where I bought this product, they only had it in medium.
Even though I'd normally go for the light shade, I bought it anyways, because I was so eager to try it out!
Luckily, I can definitely make it work even on my light skin tone, but if I were to repurchase it, I'd look out for the light shade!

Overall, I like this product, as it really does give you an illusion of a perfect skin, it blurs imperfections and smoothes the fine lines, while providing a good level of hydration!

However, there is one thing this product failed to do :(
I've had really high expectations that this B.B. cream would clear my skin from the blemishes (I was going through a really bad skin period!), but what it did was, it only gave me the illusion of a perfect skin, once the make up was off, my blemishes were still there!
And it didn't even help to make them dry and clear up faster, or prevent the forming of a new ones!

So keep this in mind when purchasing this B.B. cream!

I'd say it's actually suitable for all skin types, especially for a dry skin, as it is very good at providing a 24hr hydration and smoothing the fine lines (dry skin types are usually more prone in developing wrinkles & fine lines!).

Which one is your favourite brand of B.B. creams?

  1. i'm huge BB cream fan. My fav SkinFood Mushroom BB Cream. I lot o blog girls in Poland like BB cream frm Liole, Missha, SkinFood. I think there is a lot of good bb creams- for example frm Holika Holika, BRTC,Innisfree, Tony Moly, Baviphat, The Etude house, The Face Shop, dr. Jart, Hanskin, skin 79 - a lot of colours & types so it's hard to find perfect match. Check it on Ebay.

  2. I adore BB Creams.. much more than foundation actually. I'm on my second tube of Missha Perfect Cover SPF42PA+++ in #13, as I love the formula and the shade is is extremely light, _finally_ a match for me!

What impressed me particularly, was how those Korean chemists could create something that works so well as a foundation, as a moisturizer, and also be the best sunscreen I've ever used.

Thus I had to try lots of other BB Creams as well of course, ;) actually I was just on a massive BB Cream shopping spree in december, most of the stuff has arrived now. Woot, fun.
As I was so impressed by the great formula despite high SPFs I also bought a Korean sunscreen, Bioré Perfect Face Milk SPF50, which is *supposed to be extremely good at oil control. The weather hasn't given me the opportunity to try yet though.

Back to BB Creams, maybe you'd like to give some of them a try and maybe you'll love them too, there are at least tons of different and affordable samples on ebay.
